NEW LIFE BAPTIST CHURCH of Dover Foxcroft, Maine is an old fashioned

(but not outdated), Bible believing (King James), independent Baptist Church

A brief history

of New Life

Baptist Church

Having been lead of God, Pastor David Ireland and his wife, Rose, moved to the area in 1993 from Lincoln to start a church that would be a Gospel lighthouse in the community. After meeting in different locations, the opportunity presented itself to purchase a parcel of land on Route 7 (Dexter Road) in Dover Foxcroft on the Garland town line.

Some clearing of the land had to be done before a foundation could be laid and a building built partially into the side of a raised knoll. The new one-story building would be a multi-purpose area for the first several years with a seating area for services as well as a fellowship area and include restrooms, side rooms and a small kitchenette area.

Although this was the new permanent home of New Life Baptist Church, the long-term plan from the beginning was to eventually add a second story where the main sanctuary and office area would be. The people worked hard to raise the money for this project and eventually construction began. The church was very excited to have this long-awaited project finally finished in the spring of 2008.

In 1999 Pastor Ireland added an annual fall revival to the schedule with Evangelist Gary Lutrick. A faith-promise missions program was added during this time. In 2004, Evangelist Craig Cobb was invited to preach a yearly spring revival. With a desire to have a tent meeting, Pastor Ireland arranged for Evangelist David Evans to come up in the summer beginning in 2005.The church began hosting an old fashioned camp meeting in 2013 that is held annually beginning the third Sunday in July.

Due to declining health, Pastor Ireland began praying about the future of the church and it's leadership. In June 2018, Evangelist Craig Cobb took over the role as pastor as well as continuing his ministry in evangelism traveling the United States as well as other parts of the world.

The Lord has continued to bless New Life Baptist Church through the years for its love for God, the area and world-wide missions. We are excited for what the Lord has in store for us for the future.
